To support the needs of this rapidly growing community, McCrery Architects has designed a 1,100 seat church on a site adjacent to the existing parish facilities.  To integrate with the surrounding community, the new church takes its design cues from the historic colonial buildings of Fairfax County, Virginia while at the same time serves the needs of the parish by being unmistakable as a Catholic Church.

The church is cruciform in shape with a lower level fellowship hall that has walk-out access to a sunken garden space. The interior will be defined by a series of round arches with very large clerestory windows that result in a spacious, light-filled space, oriented toward a large sanctuary, clearly identifiable as the most sacred space in the church by its 7 stained glass windows depicting the 7 Sorrows of Our Lady.

Check out this rendered animation showing a fly-around of the exterior and a walk-through of the interior.  Be sure to check back in next Spring for more images.
